Picture
So day six comes along
and I set up my paints and easel.
Pop a blank canvas up and try to decide what to paint.
Sip some coffee.
Put on some music.
Keep thinking.
More coffee.
Fiddle with my plants.
Rearrange my paper towels.
More coffee.
I have no idea what I am doing.
It's one of those mornings.
A knock at the window.
The window?
I'm on the second story!
I open the window and in steps Charlie.
He introduces himself.
He is a muse.
Hmmmm. I always thought they were a bit more solid,
but Charlie said I lucked out and got him.
Charlie reminds me of my husband.
Anyway, Charlie offers to pose for me.
He's kind of translucent and misty...
and he has wings on his head.
He's rather proud of them.
Apparently most muses don't have any wings at all.
So he takes this kind of hip shot sideways pose to show off those wings.
I forgot my coffee.

Art is my passport to a limitless journey. When I am not exploring my materials on a technical level, there is visual exploration before me. When that seems a bit thin, there is a deep calling from the realm of my imagination. Sometimes all three come together in a perfect storm. That storm, that combination of the real, the imagined and the very paint and canvas is what calls me daily, and I answer as much as I can.....
